@electrycmonk , is most likely correct, depending on the angle of the light, you can see two different colors being reflected back to the viewer.
FWIW spider eyes in the grass have changed color on my experience. I must also admit the color is not something I have memorized, just the fact of a color shift depending on perspective/angle of light beam and subsequent reflection that I *see*. And it wasn't an "always" experience for that color shift.

little rainbows shining in the grass. Don't teach this trick to anyone scared of spiders or she won't go outside after dark again. :he

True...what amazes me is the way they don't reflect when you get close to them! Sometimes it looks like someone has thrown a string of mini Christmas tree lights all around the yard.

I wonder about angle of light beam relative to the ground as to the possibility of color shift for reflection back to your view? Distance is basically the same from both nights, yes?
Yes same spot first nite cat moved so I saw cat then it turned head and looked at me again, different spot/angle eyes were still intense green

I got those wolf spiders. I'm surrounded at nite, beady lil eyes 👀 watching, waiting.
One extra bright patch, like a big diamond sparkling, I HAD To go see 👀, it was mama with babies on her back

This is my first with chickens. I have 3 Easter Eggers that started laying late winter early spring. They were laying wondefully until June. I suspected that the heat was what caused them stop laying, but that was just my guess. I switched feeds from Texas Natural feed to a cheaper feed because of cost around that same time. Now we are in November and i have gotten less than 6 eggs since June. I don't know what is wrong. Any ideas?

Wrong? Nope. I've read around this fun place that there is natural cycle for laying eggs in many breeds. Yes, heat has an effect. However, "sunlight hours" is the (biggest?) Influencer to their biological assembly line for dropping eggs at a much slower pace thru winter....
We currently have 10 hens in the main group and 3 silkie hens in the small group; we are down to 0-4 eggs per day since mid October.
A) relax.
B) read more in the other sub forums
C) enjoy

Welcome. I'm in central Texas also. Just need to wait and see on egg production

For me my dogs just got better at stealing the eggs and finding the nests. Our hens have not slowed down one bit. As far as feed goes it is a good month when I buy them a bag. I expect them to free range.
