Texas

I'm feelin' snarky that it will hop across cuba's west end, the do a left hook around the Florida tip and then make a bee line for Mobile & Pensacola..... Unless that jet stream is strong enough & pulls it back to a NOLA landfall.

Ohhh kaayyy, now it's seriously looking like it gonna do something very similar to my snarking thought.... Just not quite so far west....

Got an issue. Need some opinions.
About 10 days ago at night i shined flashlight at coop from house, (do that every nite), I saw vivid, big, BRIGHT GREEN eyes, looking at me. It looked like 2 green lite bulbs. Watched for awhile, its a white feral cat. Last nite, it was big yellow eyes, I saw a flash of white fur as it ran into barn. Same feral cat? Different white cat? Different animal (predator)? What other critters are white, night predators?
Can animal eye reflection at night change color? I've never seen green before.
We've had an old gray possum that looks white at night via flashlight, she finally got relocated, down to the back acreage. Dont want to kill her, as she keeps the water moccasins away from the house. So now she can live down by the pond. Her eyes have shown up amber and red at night, but not green. Got me stumped.

Last night I was on youtube researching adding light inside the coop, but that still doesn't explain why they quit laying in June. I have a lot to learn and open for any help.
From what I have read, watched, seen, Easter Eggers lay sporadically. They also don't start usually until 6 months of age. I've found that free ranging, extra protein, and them being "happy" seems to bring on the eggs. Gray days for me = no eggs from them. Sunny days, free range time in the evening, some eggs or fish (we have a pond) and next day = eggs. Stubborn finicky lil girls, but so doggone fun to watch.

Regarding egg production. My Female lab has for sure put on weight so I suspect the lions share of eggs go to her. 2 cups of kibble a day and 1 pound of weight gain weekly, seem suspicious. With an acre to patrol. Our little 45-55 pounders seem to be maintaining their weight just fine at least when they aren't snoozing indoors to save energy.

I will agree we have gotten lazy here as we do not need to walk her anymore as she has a property to patrol and mouth off at the neighbor dogs for getting too close to her fence. Therefore labs will be food thieving labs and even eat your compost if you aren't watching. Half rotten onions delish!

My gal has a cute drunken chicken walk! Cute still counts but rounding them up fast at night does too! Don't approach a chicken like you are sober is all I can say. You will never catch one that way. Spread your legs wide and wobbling helps alot. I know our neighbors think or know we are loons, but we get the chicken in.

Does anyone else do the sober drunk chicken walk most nights?(might be a silkie thing)

Omg yes!!! Roflmao I have 3 stubborn girls that love to play run around the entire coop/run nightly!! I've learned to prop a long board up against the door, and chicken squat walk, wings/arms flapping around once and right to my self made chute into the run!! Then they scurry up so fast to the coop squawking away like someone was trying to kill them. Hilarious!!

[Gulp] ummm, looks like my snarky sub-conscious may have called this one..... This kinda unsettling feeling means there could be a lot of damage before it's all said & done...
