Texas

Ok time to clarify and show my crazy side.
We are rural and isolated. I do not want to eliminate the 3-4 squirrels that show up occasionally in yard. I want to increase our squirrel population.
I own a house in town. Town is over run with squirrels, there are always 6-8 in my yard in town in the pecan tree.
I want to relocate town squirrels to the house here where I live.
I have live traps, but have discussed this with friends, I was told illegal to trap without permit. I thought about talking to town animal control about bringing me squirrels.
I know I'm crazy but....

Is it possible that the city squirrels are just friendlier than their country relatives? Or the food supply doesn't support a larger number?

Plant a pecan tree and then count again. You may be surprised.

No to planting a pecan tree.
I think l less predators in town, food supply is good here. More predators here.

Regarding the LA comments I made loads by 12 year old money standards fishing up crawdads for those folk. I had a special spot at the Plano Airport where I got huge blue/red ones in my extreme youth I'm talking 6-8 inchers. You for sure never wanted to get pinched. Also in my youth I have seen someone dress out and cook a squirrel. I think you will be safe relocating a squirrel to your own property @Matejka just never the other way around as that would be perceived legally as exporting your problem to others. Wild Bird Feed from TSC could attract more to your home naturally though. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/search/wild bird feed?

https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/value-mix-wild-bird-food-35-lb?cm_vc=-10005 is the one we buy as scratch.

I have a squirrel feeder. Its 2 yrs old. I put pecans wild birdseed, some fruits. I do not leave food out overnight. Squirrels are around regularly. Just 1-2 at a time. Maybe.
Sometimes everyday sometimes every 2-3 days. I just want more

I am so excited I can grubhub out here got BK coming and I don't have to smell the grill.

I am also so pleased the UPS guy throws packages over the fence now. I don't need to see anyone taken down by the Belgian Mallinois at 70+ pounds and probably 30 mph. Like I say his games are bite pull tug and shake. I can barely play sitting on my backside on the floor.
