Texas

Okay Texans we are dealing with lots of honey bees all over the farm and there seems to be more and more hanging out in the layer and turkey feed every day. Please advise what’s happening? Is this bad for them? Should we be doing something? Re-directing them perhaps? Was hoping they’d take advantage of what feels like the endless Yaupon around here and bring some nice flavor to the honey in hives we have planned to set/populate for Spring.

These are the maturing teens I mentioned. Their mama was confirmed to be a ‘hatchery quality’ Rhode Island Red’. She was a beautiful deep red almost burgundy with a black tail and their are lots of theories about their hybrid daddy rooster. He may have been part Polish which explains why our rooster and one of the silver hens came out like so. Included pictures of their parents, what they look like today and a couple of them as chicks. Will keep you posted if the experts on here are able to give an even better idea of their breed ID.

I just wish your county had a map link on their site. https://www.austincounty.com/ I am sure google does a better job just I'm lazy. NM I see Le Grange on the map from google. Heck you are almost in HOU plenty of local resources there.

OMG is anyone else getting blasted today by these winds? My local weather stations are only reporting 20mph gusts from the SE but that just isn't true. I think they are up to the 40's right now. At least it is 80F here. I will try to take a nap again soon just the window howling and the door shaking were preventing me. Really glad I replaced my fencing.

That was here yesterday, it's 'dead calm' now, @ 2:51pm. It's 73°F and overcast.
One of my bedroom's window faces South, the wind was blowing so hard it was making the mini blinds chatter! and that eerie 'howl'. Woke me up several times.
