OMG is anyone else getting blasted today by these winds? My local weather stations are only reporting 20mph gusts from the SE but that just isn't true. I think they are up to the 40's right now. At least it is 80F here. I will try to take a nap again soon just the window howling and the door shaking were preventing me. Really glad I replaced my fencing.

That's funny @Matejka , we are only about 120miles apart as the 'crow flies' and we are still in the 70's

This front is dipping deep into Mexico, so I think it will be a while longer before we see any drop in the temp here but as they say, "calm before the storm", it might be just around the corner....cause it's dead calm here right now.

So I was just reflecting on an odd interaction with an ex Marine pre covid. I grabbed up some Barbacoa Mexicano tacos and the dude chose to drink the salsa out of the 1 ounce cup after eating his taco. Can anyone explain this to me? Was it just a macho display typical for a Marine? I put my salsa on my food.

That was quick....temps 67°F and falling and the rain is coming down in buckets! Just barely finished feeding and watering my birds when it broke loose.

That was here yesterday, it's 'dead calm' now, @ 2:51pm. It's 73°F and overcast.
One of my bedroom's window faces South, the wind was blowing so hard it was making the mini blinds chatter! and that eerie 'howl'. Woke me up several times.

BTDT for the last 12+ hours.....

Feels like : 27°F
Humidity 93% while no rain for about the next hr or so (per radar estimate of my eyes)
Rain so far: 0.27 inches
Winds (at 6' above ground) 11-25mph gusts are significantly above that as the station does experience a measured reduction from our house and the neighbors barn & house......

Well, I've already established my non-typical status so, here goes....
I have been known to take a bite of a "street taco", regular soft taco, burrito and then pour the salsa or pico into mouth - then chew.

My logic? No napkins or I was currently driving and wanted the flavors without the wet mess all over my hands and stuff. [Edit the auto-correct needed fixin', i caught other typos but, missed the "overy hands"]

Version 2: kiddos tried to sneak my salsa mix cups (prior track record validates their behavior repeating as "likely")
Version 2.1) ... so I might also dip said item in the cup "double dip style".

11PM to 3 AM for us. not looking forward to it. Plan on closing the windows tonight. I will for sure check the heater soon just to make sure DW doesn't get frozen.
