Go ahead and fill bathtub with water, just in case.
I have a couple of bricks and a clay flowerpot on back porch. If needed, I put bricks on floor, put some tealight candles on bricks, place flowerpot over candles, candles will heat up Claypot and warm area. Temp short term heat.

We have a gas faker log fireplace... 90+% of heat go right up that chimney..... It's cute but, functionally useless in my eyes.
