Texas

Sorry to hear Texas also gets such miserable weather in winter. I've never been there and assumed it was hot or at least warm all year round. Think I will stay in Illinois where I am accustomed to lousy weather. Must have done bad things in a past life and are still being punished for it.

So it's going to get a lot warmer today but, not what is needed for thawing plumbing....

Awoke around 2:25AM
OAT at -5°F (Outside Air Temp)
Forgot wind chill

Currently.....
OAT -2°F
wind chill -9°F
Humidity 88% outside & 25% inside
Power was on for almost 30 minutes.
Power just died again... At 8:29 AM.

My plumbing froze too! And the power outages... I lost a few geckos to a cold spot on the wall, crap insulation job I guess. That being said now that it's starting to warm back up, trying to decide if I wanna buy another egg turner or just accept my date of rolling eggs this time because mines not big enough.
How did your silkie hatching eggs fair? Probably not well? seeing as how cold it got 🥶 I was hoping you'd have some jersey giant babies to show off.

Also was gonna say. The power outages for 30-45 mins at a time are a side effect of texas power companies trying to keep up with most their generators being down. They're doing that to try and keep everyone warm enough to survive kinda speil.

Sadly, I have no clue on the jersey status. Two of the eggs for sure are toast. Somehow momma pushed them out. So one silkie egg & the OE Beta are now in the fridge after basically freezing without cracking.
