Texas

I think they determined it was an American badger. Apparently, the area is in their native range, although they are not common. Kind of like how where I am, we are supposed to have porcupines? I've never seen one.
I can see that. Down here we can have puma but I haven't seen one in 20 to 30 years.

I had never seen an otter until a few moths ago. I knew our neighbors had them. I was walking around the pond and I saw what I thought at first, was a medium size dog swimming. I was kind of excited, but I'm sure he ate a tone of catfish before he left us.

The nearest one here to where I am was shot a couple of years ago. I swear the bobcat that plagues me and the birds is damn near big enough to be a cougar/mountain lion/puma. They are really cool animals, but I can honestly say I'm glad I don't have to really worry about them or either one of the bears that were previously native to the area either. Bad enough having a bobcat fall through the roof of a run and killing the whole Blue SIlver-laced Orpington project flock. I can't imagine walking outside to the run torn completely apart and a bear enjoying all the birds and their feed.

I've got otters! And beaver too. They are both cute. The otters are pretty shy. I first saw them during Snovid when they were sliding down snow banks and across the frozen water. They had a good time. I've seen them a few times since then, and I hear them playing in the ditch in the front yard when the creek gets high enough to tie into the flood plain that my pasture turns into when it rains. The older beavers mostly ignore me, but the kits are insanely curious. They always come over to see me when I visit. :)

Do you make videos of them?

Not any good ones. lol I think I might have one of the kits or the older pair, but it was cold and windy and at night, so it's hard to see. If I go visit and the babies come over to check me and the spotlight out, I'll have to record some of them. I usually just stand there and talk gently to them so they know where I'm at and that they don't need to be afraid because I'm not being sneaky. I always say I'm going to bring them sweet potatoes, but I never have. I have brought the otters eggs before. And during Snovid, some frozen frogs I found in the snow.

We have a whole family of them out at my work, last year the babies were all over, soooo frickin cute! Unfortunately one of my bosses Jack russell's killed one of them
