One of the kittens (she's named Harlot) sang me the sad song of her people earlier.... The ENTIRE time I was giving the birds treats.

She didn't even want the treats. She wanted me to open the front door...

That's how I train my cats. Not temptations treats but a different kind. My guys don't like the temptations.

I shake the container of them and I get a line up in front of me of six cats waiting on instructions to get tasty morsels.

I'm afraid Junapurr has me trained. She had an insistent little meow, that doesn't stop until she gets her treats.

I think at least 4 of my 6 chicks will be cockerels. The black ones are already developing red combs. The whites have pea combs but two of them are bigger and bolder. They are almost 3 weeks old.

My cat won't eat any cat treats but if you bust out a piece of cheese, you'd better eat it quick like and in a hurry, lol

Always have a plan.

Last year I wanted layers and got meat birds. This year, I'm hoping for meat and am getting more pullets. Afraid they will be harvested. I've got the flyer at the feed store with no takes. Right next to the flyer offering $5 silkies.

I took the steps to the coop away and put the ramp back. The silkie sits at the top of the ramp and I still have to show it to the roost. I think it slept on the floor last night. Doesn't always stay put. Still dodges under it's hatch mates, because they are twice the size of the cotton ball. I hope this one finds some semblance of grace. It is seriously lacking in the normal chicken grace. Might be the feathered feet. I wonder if they tickle.

Today we emptied mulch from run. 12 wagon loads got scattered. Cut a bunch of dead limbs. Gotta burn pile now. Put a new roost in coop. Replaced roosts in run. Trimmed a bunch of brush/limbs. If it slaps me in the face while mowing-it gets cut. Awesome successful day.
