Texas

I believe it's another facet of chicken math...overlooking a chicken or two...rounding down. 😉
That's right! Anything to justify it😉

Well! It's been an "interesting" morning! I woke at 4:30 thinking "something I wanna/need to do at 5", no idea what, so I went back to sleep. 5:40 eyes fly open "babies", I acquired 5 babies yesterday.
Thank you auntiejessi3, and wanted to try and put them under a broody. She's one of my feral game hens.
So I Hustle out to coop, coffee, phone, flashlight, chicks........and broody immediately attacks babies, me, other flockmates, the wall. Total chaos. While broody is pecking at babies, an Australorp comes over and starts pecking broody, protecting babies. Broody leaves nest, goes to roost. Babies go in different nestbox. All is calm. Flock starts to head to run. Everyone leaves except broody. She heads back to nestbox, chooses empty box. I start tucking babies, she starts guiding them under her.

I hope they do. And I hope they are a rooster lol I want to try and have the buttercup combs on some hybrids. I'm not to picky about my birds I think it looks cool tho. I ordered the buttercup as a rooster and the rest as hens. But one of the giants has a white spot on their head and I don't know if they are autosexing lol
I breed Buttercups. If you need a rooster you can always get a cockerel or twelve from me. Haha 😂
And here we have another Texas member today. Y'all say hello to @lucydne
