Wish I was closer. Also is he good with cats?
I don't have any cats, but the neighbors do, and they come over sometimes. He hasn't hurt any of them. I haven't actually seen him kill anything, either. He usually just barks and harasses it until it goes away, or in the case of the opossum, I picked it up and carried it to the woods and put it in a tree. He's young, probably less than two years old and really a big old baby. I haven't encouraged killing anything because his barking and his presence are enough to keep most things away. He's also good with the other dogs. He annoys them because he wants to play with them since he's always in the backyard when I let them out or in the mudroom while my dogs are kenneled.

We made it through with no problem! Hail was maybe dime size when it got here, and while we did get a tornado warning, we did not get a tornado!
I hope you feel better soon. I have found that 4 200mg ibuprofen helps me after small car wrecks.... Which seems like basically what you went through. Good luck! Keep us updated!
Doc told me years ago to take 2 motrin (ibuprofen) and 2 Tylenol (acetaminophen). He said 1 helps inflation the other pain. So that's what I'm doing every 6 hours. More rain/storms tonight

We emergancy finished the brooder box and mom Star and the babies from the flooded pen are now in it. So relieved. Don't have to worry about them so much for the next week. Now to do some buildup across from the big pen and move the flooded one there.

Yeah, I tend to take just straight ibuprofen because it's also a pain reliver, and I tend to need the extra anti-inflammatory. But thats me, and everyone is different. So long as it works for you, you're doing it right. 😁

We have 8 days of rain in the 10 day forecast, which is pretty unusual for here. My chickens are about to be unhappy and bored. 😔

Newest mama introduced her chicks to papa today.

I'm really impressed with this little rooster. He is so good with the chicks.
My babies kept getting out of the pen and had no issues from the roosters or the Orpingtons. The Spitzhauben hens and a few Ameraucana hens chased them to under the disliked Lavender Ameraucana rooster Indy. He kinda stared them down while the chicks hid.

None of my roosters have harmed a chick, but Porter actually calls them and sits with them and the mother hens. He even sits in the nest occasionally while the moms are incubating. He is a good little dude. I hope his sons will be the same.
