Ugh brooder has become a live bait station for a coon. He can't get in but he is traumatizing Star and the babies. Went out and made sure he can't get in for sure. Set traps at each end. Hope to take it out tomorrow when I get up.

Icehole coon. You are gona rue the day you thought I put a buffet out for you.

Well? Any luck?
If you have a roasting bag, some onions, potatoes, carrots, and mushrooms soup, you have everything you need to cook that coon. Yummy.

No luck on coon. As we preformed emergency construction on brooder at like midnight or 1am I think we scared him off for the night. Also Star learned to keep still and to keep the babies sill and he couldn't readily find them.

Tonight I might catch him but the rain has washed the cat food bait away out of the traps. I've never cooked coon before or eaten it. I don't plan to but he can be fertilizer for the yard or in a landfill some where.

I mean... Chickens will eat just about anything if its cut into small enough pieces... 🤣

I hate to sound like Granny Clampett, but I used to eat the heck out of raccoon meat. Haven't had it in years. I also roasted ground hog a few (ok a lot) times, and believe it or not, that was the best meat that I've ever eaten.

When my dad hunted as a kid they ate the racoon. But he didn't hunt as I was growing up so we never got to try any of it.

My dad made us try everything. We ate turtle, turtle eggs, snakes, etc.
Weirdly, as a child I would eat all of that, but I hated bacon, eggs, biscuits, cornbread, gravy, and pancakes. Kids are just the strangest creatures.
