She ended up texting me over an hour later when it was 90+ degrees saying she was running late (she only lives 40 minutes away) and if I could meet her in 45 minutes, I told her no, it was too hot to be stressing the chicks trying to pack them up again
I would pick the year we have a extreme heat wave to raise my first flock. Poor birds stay under the coop most of the day to escape the heat.It'll be here Tuesday when it's only 104
We already had it. It was only 98 last Wednesday.
The heat has sure changed my chicken keeping routines. I just started turning all my flocks out together. I used to keep 3 seperate flocks, 2 bantam flocks and 1 extra large standard flock. Now they are all running together. Thank goodness for good roosters.
