Texas

So I spent about 3.5 hrs putting together the roosting platform today. About 0.5 hr of planning, 2 hrs of trying to find my framer's square(never found it 🤬), and then 1 hr of doing something completely different, since I wasn't confident I could cut straight angles.

After watching all these videos of people arguing about the best angle, I decided to just build an unreachable platform. I figure I can trial and error my way to a working ladder configuration. Really hoping to avoid building a ramp since they look like poop magnets and I don't really want to devote that much space to one.

Hi everyone!

I need find a new home for my 1-year-old Black Australorp rooster. He's hand raised and good at taking care of his girls. I won't have enough space or hens for him to keep him happy as I need to downsize my flock due to chronic shoulder/feet problems making it impossible to care for that many chickens anymore. Please let me know if you'd be interested in him! We are near the Tyler/Longview area.

Got roped into going to the pool with the kids today and on our way out, I saw my rooster mounted on my oldest hen. 😳 Just turned 4 months, I thought I had a little more time!

Does that mean the nesting boxes should also be open and ready for business?
You can, at 4 months they'll start exploring the nest boxes
