Hello, from Midland. I have built my first chicken tractor but am having trouble with wife accepting the idea of stealth chickens.

Lots of BYC folks in West Texas.

As long as the chickens don't bother the neighbors, most people don't mind poultry living next door. Be sure to take your neighbors some eggs for bribery.

I thought this might be a good place to find some good Tx breeders..


Sometime this year Im wanting to renew my stock and get a few different birds. I would prefer to get them somewhere here in Tx and preferably chicks, as I dont have a bator. And I havent found anyone I could borrow one from yet. Im looking for Marans, Welsummer, Red Sex Links and then some kinda bird that lays white eggs. Im pretty sure Im not gonna find one breeder that has all these, unless a miracle stricks.

But I thought I might try my chances on here. Im not interested in breeding, but would like a little better quality then hatcheries.

New to the forum from Deep South Texas, Corpus Christi. I don't have any chickens yet, but will be building a coop in the next week or so. I am interested in meat and egg chickens to compliment my garden. Does anyone know of a breeder in my area?

I can pick up some chics from the local feed store in February, but I would rather find a breeder so I know what I am really getting considering this is all new to me.
