A good place to get chicks in Texas is Xtreme Gamebirds in Elgin.

Twiztedrods...I'm not sure about local, other than the feed store and they order from the hatcheries as far as I know. We usually order straight from McMurray and I know that aren't shipping until Feb.

Check out the forum for Poultry show and swap meetings...maybe there will be one close to Corpus.

My Son pick up a Pair of Black Bantam Cochins there, There was alot of very good Black cochins there ,And the Pullet layed today and he is so excited , There shouls be some at the LaGrange show March. 5th i think ,

Hey, some place I belong! I'm in Dale, near/or not Austin/Bastrop/Lockhart. I drive thru San Marcos all the time on the way to church in New Braunfels. Really San Marcos is about the same distance as Austin/Bastrop/Lockhart.

I live in Pearland which 15ish miles south of downtown Houston. I have lived at my current location for about 1.5 years and finally built my run/coop and filled it with some lovely yard birds. Believe it or not, my first multi egg day was Christmas last month. I had to give them a present back so I made a huge buffett dinner of left overs and a some heads of lettuce. I've had multiple eggs everyday since.

Glad to see a thread for the Texas folk.

Welcome to BYC. There are a lot of members here from the Houston area. Did you advertise in our Buy Sell Trade forum ?
