Off work today and I am tired and worn out. Had a stressful day yesterday. =_= And today now my rooster is trying to mount my hen and she is not ready! I dunno what to do. I keep trying to find hens close but it is hard.

Does anyone know any good antique or resale shops around the Bryan/College Station area? I am going on the hunt in a couple of weeks for unique and interesting things to put in my chicken coops and chicken yard for decoration and/or neat items that I find of use.

Tell you what...if you want the hens that are in Austin, I can't take them - my husband kinda flipped when I mentioned it. However, I can offer transfer service and bring them out to you on Saturday if RachelS is good with that. I'm willing to do my part to keep our Texas Poultry happy - as well as their keepers.

I am to the point where i have to start thinking about the interior decorating of my kiddo's coup. In this batch of chicks, i have one silkie and the rest are all LF. How high is too high for a silkie? and will there be a happy medium for that guy and my big guys as far as hanging a feeder?

Also, will 6 nesting boxes be enough for 15-20 hens? I am planning on just stuffing them with the same shavings that i am going to use on the floor, will that work or should i put something different in the nests?
