Texas

This coup is in my yard, shared by my 5 dogs that i dont totally deem trustworthy...but at the same time no critters will be coming in my yard. I may give it a shot leaving thier door open on this one. The bigger one is a little further out and prone to more night time critters so not sure about at that time...

I have another "shed-ish" thing that im gonna attempt to turn into a meatie pen soon! Kinda the same concept but will be a more open air style like your "texas sized tractor"
I'm not sure about this Texas sized tractor. Right now I have 15 birds in it and it sure leaves a mess in the yard. I have to move it every day and it is so big I'm going over the same areas too soon, I can't have all of the poop and feathers in the yard where the kids play. AND they eat the St Augustine grass and leave the crappy stuff. Soooo I fixing to park it next to the main coops and call it a coop and not a tractor. Gonna make a smaller one for only 2 or 3 chickens.

Yeah she asked me if she could get paid to take care of her new chicks. I laughed and said then they would be my chicks not yours. It's supposed to be fun to take care of them. She thought for a moment and said, yeah like working can be fun of you just think that it's fun. Lol. Her six year old brain is learning responsibility. Hopefully I will have the patients to see it thru.
OMG that sounds like my baby girl! Always thinking about the "angle" but then always going back to the sweet baby we know.

My mom was a science teacher, we had all sorts of “pets” growing up. Loved them all! I am not scared of pretty much anything. There are 3 exceptions, Red Wasp, got stung in the eye by one as a kid, June Bugs, not sure why but I HATE THEM, finally scorpions.

As far as rodents, I think the best one to have as a “pet” for kids is a Rat. They are sweet!!! Hamsters are mean, mice are mean, Guinea Pigs make a tone of noise.

One time I saw a snake out in my mom’s flower bed, sooooooo I tried to “catch” it. It bite me! My dad tore up the rose barrel it went into to find it, it was a rat snake. Dad took it to a place up the road that had a pet shop for reptiles. I never once held it against the snake, heck I tried to grab it.

That one im making is small enough to move around...and the coup is about 4' by 3' so should be able to hold a about 3 or 4 adults...it is parked where i want my graden to be next year...so im gonna let them start working my soil!

Here is my project! Should be ready after some details tomorrow!

If the chickens have access to their run from sun up to sun down can i just put feed and water in the run or do i need to have it in the coup as well?

We don't have food and water in our coops...

awww.. poor snake..

I've been bitten by them too.. what they don't realize is that I'm not impressed by getting bit or having snake musk sprayed on me (regardless of how bad it smells)..

and yeah.. I always catch them barehanded.. they don't like to wait around while I go find a snake hook or a stick
