The guys turned him loose and the field, and used him for target practice. Sorry sucker! He cost me about $300-$400 in the past three days.

(sorry for your losses.. but the thought of chicken revenge is too funny)

Our neighbor had been feeding the coons.. would let them come into his house while he fixed them a snack.. told me how they liked to play with the remote for the tv... then he cut down their tree and quit feeding them

guess where they came... yup... right on over here for chicken dinners

I saw the biggest one late one night.. ZERO fear of people. But by the time I got back out there with the gun he was gone

I have an old 1930 house on 4 acres and you talk about cold!!!!! No insulation in the living room or dining room ceiling because new sheet rock was put in when I bought it. Maybe I can afford some one of these days ;-)

That's just flat out irresponsible. What the ___ was he thinking? They are big enough pests as it is; but, to get them to where they have no fear of humans and are used to being supplied ready and easily aquired meals from human habitations? Good lord...I'd be tempted to feed my neighbor to the birds, must less the coons...Not that I would, you know....just sayin'

That was when we lost the majority of our flock the other year
Since then ol Bubba hasn't been back (that we know of)
Between the coops, dogs and nite guard lights he and his buddies figured out this wasn't the best place to hang out.. the guy had even taught them to stay out of live traps and then bragged about it to me one day when I was up by the road checking my mail...

Like I have said before.. when we were free ranging I expected to lose a bird here or there to predators... but the slaughter that went on that spring was just too much to allow to continue.. We did catch a few critters in the live traps.. but none were his "pets"
