Yeah I saw that they could cross also the other day and some of the pics I saw makes me think only a face a mother could love!!! Right now I have the keats with the baby chicks but I'm gonna seperate them in a couple of weeks. Darn sure I don't want any little accidents!

Cause knowing my luck it will be like when the neighbors sorry looking longhorn bull got in with my cows and I found out 10 months later that he bred 3 cows in 3 days while apparently my high dollar registered bull layed in the shade! Lol!!!!'

I want a Guin-hen! I want a tuken mixed one =] Looks like a little vulture. Too bad they live short lives. Anyone know if they lay eggs?

So it's official, we got an offer accepted today. Sometime after school ends, I'll leave NY behind and become a Texan. Whoo-hoo! Don't expect me to start loving the Dallas Cowboys though, that's too much to bear along with the loss of good pizza.

Now who has plans for converting a gazebo into a coop? There's one in the backyard already, and my non chicken owning mother already asked if I was planning on that. It's like she read my mind. Of course I have to convince the HOA that I am sheltering rare Indonesian Ground Parrots instead of chickens but I'm more of a do first, ask later kinda gal.

Yeah, I know, I'm really not thrilled about the HOA either. However there's a Koi pond in the front yard - tell me if you haven't seen chickens prettier than a goldfish, I ask. Maybe I'll find some cheap land somewhere close by instead. Something tells me they would frown on me putting in veggies instead of grass also. I did really want to try quail, maybe that counts as not a chicken? Eh, whatever. I'll figure it out

My 22 month old SS, Welsummer & Orpington girls that I just put in the Wyandotte pen this evening, they weren't too happy I came out to lock up the coop for the night & the Welsummer & the Orp were out, they had flown over the 6' fence the SS was running back in forth hollering for her sisters
