Texas

I will go out and take more pics as soon as my son goes to sleep. They are repurposed. Actually my whole coop is lol. The coop itself is an old deer blind lol. The nesting boxes are buckets we buy that our show cattle supplements come in. I have two more extra right now, that I was going to use outside. But I think I'm going to nitch that idea. So if anyone wants some I can save them for you. I usually get 2 a month once I've got all the ateers on them.

Might be interested. Depends on Mike :) He'd have to find a way to incorporate them into our coop design....he's so funny.

Ok - they are **gasp** letting us out early, so I'm heading home to kidnap my husband and take him out to dinner.

Just finished off a jar of last years peaches. They were rather tasty and reminded me of a story about my grandmother. Though I would share.

Most people remember their grandmother as the maker of tasty things, I don't. She could make a biscuit that would kill. Literally. Hard as rocks, take a 15 pound roast and cook it down to 2 pounds. She could can any vegetable though as they were delicious. She tried fruit and this is what the story is about. Her canned fruit.

Back when my siblings were younger they discovered that my grandmother's canned peaches were special. She couldn't seem to can them right and actually preserve them but they made a fine after dinner treat, as long as they were under 6 months old. Well they had run out of peaches from the main shelf so they started digging around on the top shelf, where she kept the stuff, she 'might' need later. They found a can of four year old peaches. They took it down and were loving it! It had fermented and was some of the tastiest peach drinks anyone could find. My grandfather noticed the kids were having a little too much fun and started asking around. He discovered the cause and went and grabbed the last 6 cans of peaches. Him and all the grandkids were chowing down on them at the dining room table. My grandmother walked in, saw the feast of peaches and said," Well I'll be! Seems like I need to make sure I can more peaches next year if they are this popular!" Everyone readily agreed.

We keep them in our goose coop at night with the geese. I think it is about 10 feet by 12 feet. I think being in with the geese keeps them safe from predators and such too. The geese are just tooo mean

. Most of my Chicken coops and runs are cemented around the bottom and fenced with sturdy fencing overlaid with welded wire hardware cloth but the goose coop not so much. This is our first year with Turkeys though. I am sooo in love with them
