Thanks for replying. I thought it was a dumb question but I was reading a post yesterday and someone had something about "training" their chickens to roost. I assumed it came naturally.

Haha I have one doing this right now! All of my other birds except her roost. She tries to sleep outside or right at the door into the coop. Silly birds =)

Mark, I was worried about it too when my girls just did not want to roost. As a couple weeks have passed more of them seem to be at least "trying" their roosts out even if they aren't all sleeping there every night. And a couple of them sleep there at night and a couple fight over other areas that aren't even "roosts", but the chickens consider them roosts. I think eventually, they'll all get the hang of it.

Yes, ask any questions! I'm a newb too, but I am loving this adventure!!! And I know the OT's have been soooo helpful to me! Thank you OT's!

Muscovy are pretty much done hatching.. dorkings are finishing up too

next up are ancona ducks, mandarins .. geese.. then yokohamas

the silkie eggs arrived yesterday.. lots of assorted colors!

I hope everyone is having a nice day.. sorry I haven't been on much lately.. just been so darn busy with hatching.. brooders.. coops.. pens and tanks..

lol.. I am up to my eyeballs in chicks and ducklings!
