Texas

Hi Fellow Texas Chickeneers! My name is Diane. My hubby and I live outside of Boerne, which is 30 miles NW of San Antonio. We love it in the hill country and have too many critters to count. Presently focusing on jersey giants, light sussex, silkies, and ameraucanas.

Good Morning Everyone! A Special HOWDY to goddardd!!

I open their door around 5:30 and they come wandering into the outer pen when it is light. Thankfully I was about 40 minutes late in letting my flock out to free range this morning. I walked around the corner and in one of the trees was a hawk. UGGH!!! He flew away when he saw me. I have seen them overhead but it has been a while since they have been sitting/watching my flock. The girls were scared but were hiding when I opened the gate. They will stay in the pen today.

Lisa :)

My remaining 7 6-week olds are doing great - so glad TSC is open Sunday, we probably saved a few lives by getting the corid that day.

He looks like he could be a pure Bates Grey line. He is nice what ever he is.

Any way to tell for sure?
The only way I know to track lines is to keep breeding records. This guy doesn't have the paper trail of pairings, etc. but you could probablly send photos to some of the farms that breed American Game Fowl and see what they think of him. Most of the American Game breeders look like they are mixing lines anyways so the line might not matter too much to people intrested in these birds.
