My chicks are almost 15 weeks old. For the last 4 evenings I have been letting them out of their tractor for about an hour before sunset. I've been sitting with them and just watching what they do. Every day they get a little more brave, venturing farther from the tractor. It's so fun to watch their dynamics - I now know one of my EE's is the leader/bully of the flock, which I find interesting since she has not even begun to develop a comb or wattles and 2 of the others have. So, I've learned that "maturity" doesn't necessarily mean boss
It's funny when one of them finds something new - all of them rush over to investigate! And then, all at once, they march themselves back into their tractor and go into their roosts for the night. Funny birds.
