Texas

We got 4 inches in College Station the other night, and we're still drying out.  But according to our newspaper the official amount of rain was barely over an inch.  It's funny how spotty it can be.
Our official amount of rain was 6.5 inches. I know that where I am it was over 7 though. I just didnt' get a good reading this morning. Saying it was 7 is understating. Yes, it is funny how spotty it can be!

Last 8 weeks, if I did start a fire, I made sure I had a hose ready and watched it closely. But no burning ban. I was amazed. Suddenly though, when there was a few grass fires close to the county seat, one finally went into effect. Should have been one here long before there really was. But I'm glad there wasn't. I have a feeling the only reason one finally did get put into effect was because of irresponsible people. Yeah I could have started a grass fire like that. But I didn't because I'm not that stupid.

Congrats on the asparagus. I planted a few Mary Washingtons but I don't think mine made it.

Thanks. We've been nursing our asparagus for several years now. Last year was the first year we were actually harvesting enough for a meal or two a week (at least in the spring and early fall). But it's really unusual to be able to harvest 6 or 7 spears at a time. I save them in a mug of water in the fridge for a couple of days til we get enough for a good meal.

Good Morning Fellow Texans!

Technically all's quiet around here. I have two roosters battling it out over who has the loudest crow.
