Texas

Legbar's are pretty birds. I love their muted coloring.

Congrats on the new egg!!

Those of us who don't use artificial light and who haven't had an egg in a couple of weeks are jealous!

What large fowl white egg layers are good for Texas? I want to free range them. One of my Polish pullets gave me a few dozen eggs before stopping three weeks ago. One gave me maybe two and another might have given me one egg. The fourth Polish has yet to give me any eggs (all are 7.5 months old). I need some white in my egg basket.

If you don't care that they are not dual purpose, Leghorns are great here, from my understanding, have never owned one though

I have a leg horn and got him because I read they were the best egg layers. I heard the barred rock are really good as well. I have one of each. The leg horn is a good flyer is that matters. I get scared he will attempt to see what's on the other side of my fence.

My Brown Leghorns lay a very nice large white egg, they are a little flighty but great foragers.
