To cure the pox, just isolate the bird, rub some Vicks VapoRub (this is for cough, you can buy at drug store) over their face. This will stop the pox from spreading to their eyes. Give it 1-2 weeks and the bird will get over the pox. Don't peel the scales, just let it fall off by itself.
The pox is not transferred to human so I don't think this will affect your food consumption. Just make sure it is cooked.[/quote
My chickens got aviary pox once. The vet told me to keep them from getting stressed, keep things clean and add food high in vit. C. They all survived and should never get it again.
I gave them tomatoes for the vit.C.
