Texas

My mom had her gallbladder out a couple years ago. She eats foods just fine. Is that not the norm? It took all day to get my doors installed yesterday and I painted the insides today. I"m still trying to figure out the exterior color. Here they are. :) I just LOVE them! Back door. Blinds are between the glass. It is still taped up here from painting. Sasha can sit and look out the door at the back yard now. Front door. I LOVE this door! I will be painting the trim white (hopefully soon). I want a color that is bright and pops. I need to go get samples to try.... Orangish brick makes it hard to choose a color.
How about true blue. I am not a designer person. I was so delighted when we got the house we are in because the color scheme was pleasant.

@Heidisgran , I had my gallbladder completely removed. They had hopes originally that only a portion of the gallbladder had an infection so they could remove it and leave the rest, but the infection was too great. It ran from the bottom of my gallbladder (my lower right side) to the upper portion if my sternum.

I have sensitivities to loads of processed foods. I can't eat canned chicken in water because it just destroys me. There are other foods that do this, especially canned items, but I don't always stop myself from eating things. You just get used to not feeling great. It's why I decided to do this detox.

The suckish part is that I won't be able to eat fruit. That is going to make it hard, but I can understand it. It is just so restricting. The "Good" list is only half recognizable. I just have to find a way to eat foods differently. It's gonna be hard, haha!

Amazon.com has free kindle books that often change every day. You don't need a kindle to read them, they have phone, computer, tablet kindle readers for free. If you will search their cookbooks, just set it to do "low to high", you can find a variety of paleo, gluten free, soy free, etc. type cookbooks that you can check out for recipes with your restrictions. If you check every day, you'll get a good variety of cookbooks for free that may help you.

That is a large list of foods.  You should have no trouble combining items for endless meals.  Saute your protein in a small amount of coconut oil and put on top of a green salad with tomatoes.   Add a few roasted walnuts for crunch.  Make your black beans and rice with homemade chicken/veg stock, then combine them with some GF hamburger and wrap in a Romaine lettuce leaf for "taco's".

I know you can do it!  :clap

I think it is quite an extensive list if you can afford it. Alas, I am a poor, unemployed college student that still lives with her parents. I had to have a huge talk with the parents because I wasn't sure they would support me doing this now.

Grass-fed beef is so expensive, too. I was lucky to find hormone-free, antibiotic-free, cage-free, free-ranged chicken for a decent price (and I went for the thigh instead of the breast because the difference was ridiculous). I don't think I could have afforded beef. The cost was just too expensive to justify. I was lucky to score some wild caught drum that our monger had. I'll have to filler it myself, but it was only $2.98 a pound.

I did get a coupon for $2 off 28oz of organic, unrefined, cold-pressed EV coconut oil. It was $10.99, so it was a decent sale. It cost less than the olive oil I wanted to buy and there was more product.

I love HEB. It is way better than WalMart and they are really bringing in lots of healthy foods. It made this detox thing a little easier to prepare for.

I'll look through it! The lady who designed the detox has a free cookbook online, but it is meant for after the cleanse when you've reintroduced certain foods. Plus, she was a Ford model and had a huge budget. I have to stretch my money and can't afford to pay $45 for 12 lbs of noodles or to buy a Vitamix blender.

It's gonna be hard work. I'm terrified, haha!

As of right now, the skunk is gone so you don't have to worry about that.

How did the audit go?

Surgery is Thursday.  I had a total wrist replacement done almost a year ago.  The surgeon messed up big time.  He didn't have my size appliance available and put in a large one.  It has caused me all kinds of problems not to mention pain and not being able to use my hand.   The new surgeon is going to go in and have a look-see.  He will assess the damage and hopefully be able to put a smaller appliance in.  If he can't, he will fuse my wrist.

Talking about changing shoes, I use work boots to walk around outdoors.  My problem is training my DH to take his off when he comes in.

Lisa :)

Best Wishes and good thoughts on Thursday and re-cooping. Chicken pun intended.

Laura - a word of warning about those "miracle noodles" if you have never had them...although they are made from yam fiber (if I remember correctly) they have a distinct fish smell. You have to rinse them to get past the odor...and they are packed in liquid, so a 1 lb pkg is a LOT less than you think.

The ones I was thinking of finding (eventually) were made from brown rice flour, rice bran, and water. Those weird smelly noodles are too iffy to invest in. At least the brown rice ones (the cheaper ones) are said to be really good, without the smell or the mushy texture. Plus, I might be able to make them myself if I can find rice flour in the local Asian market. Brown rice flour is a little hard to find, I think.

Some regular grocery stores like Walmart and Brookshires are carrying rice flour now - because they are carrying a larger amount of gluten free foods. Sometimes it is in the baking/flour section, other times it's with all the other gluten free products.

Good Morning Fellow Texans!!

A warm balmy morning! I couldn't see the stars this morning. :(

Our residential skunk has now moved to the barn. UGH! He/She is always in a spot we can't shoot. One of these days though.....

Have a great day!

Lisa :)
