Please add me to your list. Wilson TX, south of Lubbock. I am in the middle of a winter remodel of an old brick building (circa 1940) my grandad built to house an as-yet-undertermined flock. He used to make his own bricks even, it should be a good coop. I might add some pics when I get her going.
My question is this. I have determined I want a varied mixture of birds. I like the Dominique roo (from years ago past experience) but we never bred them, so if I had some silkies, would this roo probably breed all the hens and if so, do you get some sort of Frankenstein chickens out of a crossbreed like that? I would assume so, I don't see chickens as being all that picky (Oh dude, you bred the ugliest ONE).
Also, anyone else around me, feel free to post, I figure I will have the coop and run finished by end of Jan, get some chicks in Feb or so, and they should be good to turn out late March. Can't wait to get the babys in.
