She's a really lovely pullet. I feel very lucky to have her.I love the coloring most of the blue chickens have. She is very pretty!
She has much better color/pattern than the cockerel I brought.I love the coloring most of the blue chickens have. She is very pretty!
Technology that's 4 things.Well I only have 3 things left to do on my coop and only 2 things that I have to do before the chickens can move in!! I need to paint the floor with the Rubber-Coat #57, I need to frame out the roost bars and poop board, and I need to put corrugated roof panels up. This weekend proved to windy for that job again!!! I have everything on site and I can smell victory.![]()

Hello fellow Texans!
I moved here in 2004 and absolutely love this state! We are in Cedar Creek just outside of Austin.
The people are so friendly and helpful, Which is where my question today comes in.
How much protection from the elements does my flock need here?
with the weather here my husband is thinking that a 3 sided shelter will be enough to keep them safe and warm in the winter and will allow enough breeze in the summer months to keep them shaded and cool in the summer heat. I like the full coop which we do have but we are thinking of changing things up a little bit.
Does anyone have some advice on this?
just a quick note my ladies are always protected from predators on all four sides!
Thank you in advance for your assistance with this decision.

What a beautiful bird. Don't think I have seen one like that. I am just amazed at the varieties there are now. When I was a kid I just remember white, plymouths, red and the kelloggs rooster. She's a really lovely pullet. I feel very lucky to have her.
