Oh goodness! Be careful! RIR's can be pretty feisty boys.

This RIR Roo is crazy mean. His chest is completely bald from throwing himself at the fencing of his run tring to fight the other Roos. My neighbor put him in the pen and got him a hen and was gonna get some more. But the RIR Roo killed the hen, broke her neck. So he was going to freezer camp because of his aggression.
Still no sign of the crazy chicken, I hope he stays clear of my yard.

I believe that! The one I had was honestly about two foot and he wasn't even full grown!`He was still getting in his feathers but he had a lovely crow. Pirate was not the nicest boy though, not like my dominique roo I had.
Just watch the roosters and see how they do, if one seems overly aggressive and the other two get along you might try testing by locking certain ones away and seeing how two do together. Just trial and error seeing who goes to freezer camp.

Abraham has proven himself...all chicks are his and he is VERY protective. He doesn't like me at all, won't turn my back on him. But that's ok, didn't keep him for his disposition.
As long as they get along they can stay for now. Besides if what we think turns out accurate they will get separated anyway so each can be their own "flock" to breed true. Then the poor mutt PR roo will be left to deal with Abraham or the freezer.

Thanks! I might go ahead and get the eggs and whatever doesn't fit I guess can go to the fridge for eating... that or maybe I can find someone locally who wants some d'anvers, who knows. I hope the money I spent on these silly shipped eggs is worth it!

Maybe see if another hen will go broody for you. Then you can split the clutch between them.

I would just do the trial test run. Some roosters will tolerate others coming it. I had an adult rooster and brought in some younger chicks and he never touched the little man once. Now granted that little roo was not old enough to breed yet but still no fighting and I only had two roosters and 13 hens.

Hopefully since he is 5 months and my cockerels are 11 weeks, they will be young enough to accept each other. Just hope that his becoming king of the henhouse doesn't go to his head, he gets out of line and it's off with his head!

Your birds are young yet...right? Absolutely freezer camp candidate. Hope he gets caught before he hurts anyones birds.

I only have two other hens and neither of them are interested. I have four eggs sitting in the other nest box and they are just happy to have someplace to lay where Yumyum isn't trying to kill them for getting in her nest. I would have figured my Brahma to go broody, but alas she is just content rolling around in the dirt, and my araucana is busy trying to steal my dogs food every day.

Speaking of my araucana, anyone else have problems with any rumpless breeds getting poop severely stuck to their feathers? She simply can't keep her rump clean! I even plucked some feathers from down there and it seems like I am going to have to pluck further and give her a freaking poop shoot!

Yes my oldest birds are 11 weeks old. So they are no threat to anything other than bugs right now, lol. I also hope he is caught before he harms anyone, or maybe that the game cock injured him just enough that he will lay low for a while. Give the owner a chance to find him. I sure don't want to have to deal with that mean, crazy Roo.
