You do know it is totally legal, and your right, to open-carry on your own property. If someone calls, the cops would ask if you are on your property, and maybe come out to make sure, but would not be able to do anything to make you disarm on your own property. I understand being safe around the boys, but firearm education is the best thing for them. Not trying to tell you what to do, just my opinion.

I am teaching my boys gun safey. But when they are together they do everything they have been told NOT to do. I don't trust them to respect the guns if they don't respect the rules. As for open carry, most of my immediate neighbors wouldn't care. The problem is some people would raise a fuss because school buses drive by and a few older kids walk by on their way to school. It may be legal to open carry on my private property, but some parents would go ballistic and call the sheriff. The sheriff would probably get annoyed and give me a hard time even though it's legal.

OK. Understood. So, how is Ebony doing?? I hope she is getting better.

I may be coming down that way this weekend, not sure, but maybe. I am going to pickup Lacy from Therry!!

Maybe then the sheriff would take your complaints about the vicious dogs more seriously, if you felt threatened enough to wear a weapon when outside on your own property. If it's legal to carry a weapon on your property, they can't do anything about it.

Ebony is tucked in with the 2 goslings. They are curled up with her under the heat lamp in the nursey, which is good considering it's going to drop into the 50s tonight. She can keep them warm. I'll probably have to keep the ducklings in my bathroom for a few days at night till it warms up.she is still limping badly, and she swims using her good leg more than her bad leg. But she is using her leg during pool time. She is getting quite snugly, she put her head under my chin for a sec today then reacted like she couldn't believe she did that. Lol. She also talks to me now when I'm holding and petting her. She is going to be a very spoiled lap duck!

Congrats on possibly picking up your puppy! She is a cutie! If you make it down to San Antonio let me know. I can give you directions to my place.

I will think about that. It is a good point. I just need to figure out if it would be worth the hassle.

If I am down that way, anyway, I plan on dropping a care package off for Henry. By the way, how is he doing? Is he helping you with your garden woes?? The care package won't be much, mostly a check, but everything extra we have has bee recycled for either the chickens or the dogs. The clothes I have won't fit him. I am sorry about this, but I aim to help out, and I will. Is there anything that stands out, that he needs??

Well, Ken and I are in agreement, and you know what they say about "great minds think alike"! Seriously, there is only so much they can hassle you once you make it clear that you know you are within the law. Cops usually back off once they figure out you actually know your rights and won't take any guff. I have some in my family, so I can say that without being anti-law enforcement.

Henry is doing fine. He went to town today, don't know what for. I haven't asked him to help with our garden. Henry kind of takes over your garden silently when allowed to do so. He also just plants things where he sees room and I like having my garden neat and orderly, lol. I really can't think of anything he needs right now. He is a simple man who has learned how to make do with what he has due to tight finances. It's one reason we always invited him over for a holiday meals, the other being no one else ever showed up to spend the holidays with him. Which was sad. Henry can be very rude, but no one deserves to be alone on holidays.

2 of my uncles and 1 cousin are/were San Antonio police. My cousin is a sergeant in the SAPD now. But I would have to deal with Bexar county sheriff, not SAPD. But why not. It is legal and I am tired of having to run to grab something to chase the dogs out. And maybe those idiots who walk down the street with all the lose dogs would stop if they saw me carring. Doubt it but I can dream right? Good thing I have a good holster for it.
