Texas

I may have already mentioned this, but I am so proud I have to again, sorry. My daughter graduated high school Saturday! She was top 10% of her class, part of the honor society, vice president of the thespian chapter at her school, and she has been a black belt in martial arts since 16! We are so proud of her. She has scholarship to major university, she wants to do something in medical science along with acting. Kind of a strange combination, but still couldn't be more proud of all she has accomplished already, and we can't wait to see what she will do next, lol.

Congrats Starfire!!!

Definitely something to be proud of!!! :)

Bawhahahaha!!!! Went outside and there is a big ol mean coon in the trap.

I'm sure I shouldn't be so excited, seeing as I took an oath to protect animals, but the coon is going to die. I am protecting my flock. Yup, that's it!

You did get him after all. Hopefully that will give you some consolation!!!

I saw a Texan post and had to join.im out in a little town called cleveland. Enjoying the rain but not the muddy animal pins.

Hi from Leander, Texas. N/W of Austin. TX

Good morning peeps and peeper keepers. Monday is upon us again... uuuugh. Had to read a lot to catch up on things. Welcome to the new folks and for all those who suffered losses over the weekend, my heart goes out to you. As for me, I've been remodeling my father's new house from the floor joists up, as he sold the family home. He's 78 and lives alone. 5 bed 3 bath home on an acre was a bit much for him to keep up with. He moved into a small 1/1 on a postage stamp sized lot. It will be better for him but the down sizing was a nightmare! Now, I can finally get back to completing my chicken tractor. My little barred rocks aren't so little anymore and are itching for more breathing room!
yeah when my great grandma davidson moved off of her farm it was a nightmare getting rid of all of the stuff looking back i wish i could have kept alot of the stuff we threw away i would have killed for her old tractor this morning picking up a 75lbs dog is nothing to sneeze at. She had the old house torn down after her 3rd stroke and belive me it was a pain 3 full barns of stuff!! i wonder when that house was made because out of all the houses i have helped take down or fix that was the only one with 10x10 supports. it's still sad to think she went out in a double wide trailer wishing for her horses back god i'm going to miss that woman.

Good day all
Slow start today...welcome to all the new folks

Showbarn momma...sorry for the loss of your favorite hen! But glad you got the coon...we have been on a coon watch for a few nights now. I feed our outdoor cats on my porch and Thursday night my dog was making a ruckus...looked out to find a coon eating the cat food. DH went on a hunt but lost it when it ran under the house. Haven't seen it again but dirty foot prints and cat food scattered about so it's still around. He's killed 4 possum and one coon already this year.

Starfire...glad to hear your clan is doing well. Congrates on your daughter...awesome accomplishments. With all the bad stuff you hear about kids now a days it's great to have kids that still want to excell!

Yesterday kinda turned in to a "Be a bum" day. After church I took DH's mom to drop stuff off at good will store. DH got the floor of the chicken house done. All clean and bright...that lasted about 30 minutes..LOL. The mosquitos made it really unpleasnt to sit out so we stayed in and watched movies the rest of the day.

Today is go to town day. Scrapping the bottom of the feed bins. The pantry is looking a bit thin so need to buy grub for us and the animals.

Going to get some yogurt for my little maran. Tetracycline is very broad spectrum antibiotic. Don't know about chickens but it kills good "bugs" in humans and has bad side effects when the good gut bugs die. So in the interest of her digestion going to replace the good bugs. She is improving though.

Have a good day...Magpie
