Welcome!

My grandparents still live there.

Happy belated Birthday! Sorry you were sick on your birthday.Thank you. Sorry th vid didn't come thru. I will try to figure it out. Sorry you are not feeling well, get well!!
I spray the coop floor to help cool it off some. Also helps with the deep litter. I got a box fan and run it for my chickens. They really like it! They all line up in front of the fan and let it blow on them. I run it during the day when the temps are supposed to get in the mid to upper 90's. It's just so hot when there is no breeze blowing. An idea worth the try....We been spraying the chicken house roof with the hose every afternoon...it really makes a difference for awhile. Then we dump and flush their kiddie pool. they love to walk in the muddy water and peck for stuff but that;s the extend of them actually getting wet. When I tried misting them they just ran, but they seem to like the damp ground. I agree the heat is worse than the cold. Only three big and two bantam eggs today. , oh and one fairy egg under the big hens' roost.

Keller Texas here. We've live in MANY towns in Texas because DH's work (currently Keller). We both grew up in Livingston but still call Cedar Park/Austin home.
I found BYC when searching for info on how to care for my little duckling and amazed at the amount of info here. One of the biggies I've learned is he needs a duck-mate to pal around with. I am having a heck of a time finding 2 wk old ducklings here in the DFW area.

Good luck!I am so excited for you! From everything I've read, they're great feather babies.I'm really looking forward to getting the coop up, so we can order them (one thing at a time)...
We actually managed to get one post in cement before this massive storm came. We will persevere!
