I think you talking about pex or pec tubing. That stuffs great when used for water it will freeze and swell to twice its size before it bust. I used it to make a water system for my chickens( after I finished fixing my house). You can cut it quickly with limb lopers if you don't need a smooth cut for plumbing.

Managed to get the finishing touches on some of the stuff around the house thanks to all of this wonderful weather. Including, the final touches on my hoop coop. Stole some ideas from Baymule's design, and some from the internet. Here's the finished product! It's currently where my non selective layers are, as of next month it's where the Aussies will be living.

Looks great! I also fixed up my duck hut yesterday. I had to redo the roof and then ran out of supplies. Oh well, one corner of the roof now is covered with plastic and I think it will stay that way for a while. I hope it is water proofed this time! I found out I had a leak in the fall. I now have 7 week old duck that will be going out here in a week or two so I needs to be really dry and warm. I do have a question for y'all. I now have a 1 inch gap under the roof do I need to cover it with hardware cloth? we have mice and I think a rat or two that run down my fence.

Due to snakes, mice, rats, and other vermin I would close up that gap.

I have this 6 month old Brahma/Cochin Cockeral that needs a new home. He was very slow to mature but now at 6 months he is taking his liberty with my ladies and so is my other rooster. The gang bang the poor ladies, They have stopped egg production because of this too I'm pretty sure. Some of them are missing a lot of feathers where the roosters will grab and chase them and pluck them out to mount them. He hasn't asserted his dominance over the other roo yet and I have yet to hear him crow. I need him to find a new home quickly. We are in Lubbock, Texas and I know trying to rehome a rooster is like pulling teeth but I figured I would start here. He is very handsome! It's the multi colored one. You can see here some of the feather missing off this hen's rump

if you could get that guy to Stephenville I could put him to work.

Henless your a chicken keeper after my own heart. I can't tell you how many things I've build over the years that don't look half that good!! I know I've put critters in cages I've built and they had to have lived in fear of collapse!! I built a 10' x4'x4' cage for my quail today and must say I've learned a lot about chicken wire in the last 5 yrs or so. I'm supposed to go pick up 15-20 bob whites in the morning!! Probably won't sleep tonight.

I had a lot of help from DH on my coop. I like to build things. I just get really tired due to having RA and have to take breaks or go at my own speed. You'll be counting bob whites in your head tonight!! LOL

I would cover it. Snakes, rats and mice can fit in that size hole.

The rain has started here already. Supposed to rain all day tomorrow and some on Friday. I have an appt with my Rheumatologist tomorrow in Tyler. I really hate driving in the rain.

How is everyone doing this morning? My back yard is totally flooded but my ducks are super happy to be swimming all over. Here I was thinking they were too young to be out in the cool weather but they were screaming at me all morning from the garage and wanted out.
