My keyhole garden. Things are starting to grow. I hope I can keep plants growing.
Planning on getting a 3 week old cream legbar pullet. I just realized I have never raised a chick this young on my own. I have always have had a broodie hen raise them for me. How long before I can introduce her to my two hens?

My roo started trying to crow three weeks ago. Sounds more like a laugh though. He's now almost 13 weeks old.

Let's do it!! I will be at Conroe Trade days on May 3 2015. Hopefully I will have a booth showing off my run panels. I was going to build a coop/run to show off, but doesn't look like I am going to have the time. Right now I am building a coop/run, rabbit hutch/run with extended run, an extension to a run I built about 3 months ago, and a run to go inside a barn/chicken house. I have been blessed and am thankful for it. Cannot wait to meet you!!

Sounds good to me. I can't seem to find any information on it. Where is it going to be held?

It will be held at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds on Airport Rd. in Conroe. It is all about birds. Whayever kind or breed you want. Usually is a big event. Held twice a year, first Sunday in May and the first Sunday in October. I am hoping to have a booth to show off my run panels. If you can make it, looking forward to meeting you and everyone else that comes.

Hi, I live near the sugarland area. I am looking for contacts to purchase approx 8 laying hens. I did see the info on the Conroe trade days, however I believe that is the weekend I won't be in town. I have searched the Internet for places within driving distance to purchase hens that are laying, and I have come across a few, however many want upwards of $40.00 per hen.
Also the ones I find on Craigslist are mainly roosters.
My question is, do you have laying hens for sale and if not, do you have a contact you could give me?
I am going to be looking for the hens early June.
Thanks in advance.

It's a bit far away, but if you venture towards San Antonio there is a place in Natalia, TX where you can purchase laying hens. They normally let you know what's available on their web page. The prices are reasonable and the hens I've gotten from there are usually very nice.
