Well, he was coming up from Cleveland and apparently they do spot checks all the time for various livestock, especially when the intent is to sell. Not just chickens, pigs, goats, etc. Maybe it is a new thing.? I am new to the game, so perhaps that is it. For experimenting, and learning what I could from trail and error, and my elderly neighbor who built houses for 30 plus years, I have my mature pure bred breeds separated in various coops. It gave me a little bit of pride to get compliments on the coops. But, I do want to be a player in the hatching egg/chick game. I had contemplated many entrepreneur ventures. But, what I have learned, is if you can have a business that incorporates your hobby and passions, that don't do any harm it is easy to sleep at night and do what you love doing. I have been in a career for nearly 18 years that I absolutely hate, and the last 8 years have made me like it less. I can tell them to pound sand in 7 years, and plan on doing it with a sense of joy and satisfaction. In the mean time, setting up a business that can provide after retirement that I love doing anyway is win-win.That is just too weird. Makes no sense to have someone from a different agency come out to do that - not cost effective at all. Which makes me very suspicious about what is really going on. Appreciate the info from you.
