Hey y'all, I'm new to BYC, and someone suggested I join the state thread... so here I am. I live south of ft worth... and idk about y'all, but that wind today was awful. I agree with not needing a purebred flock. Personally, I just want them happy and healthy

I think it's Spanish moss.
I thought since it's everywhere and free, I could put it in the run that is becoming bare again.
A friend of mine was once playing in Spanish moss and got chiggers (red bugs) -- maybe proceed with caution. I think that chiggers can irritate chickens.

I use hay and diatamatious earth.
 
i usually hatch them, or give them to broody hens to hatch.
Right now I am at my max capacity, so as much as I want more, I have to wait.
I now know who to contact when I want some.

I suspected there may be a good reason why I have never come across pictures of anyone using this stuff in chicken runs!!

I was sorta thinking that it might lead to impacted crops. I know I was told to be careful with ball moss because of that (I have tons of it everywhere).
