Does anyone have the Pergo Outlast flooring from Home Depot installed in their home? (It's the spill protect 24 laminate) I'm looking to replace all the flooring in our 2200 sf older ranch house. I'm considering this or woodlook porcelain tile. Because it's our forever home, I'm not thinking of resale value. More importantly is comfort, ease of cleaning, durability. We live on a small ranch with cattle, horse, chickens, & a dog. The cost is pretty much the same since my DH & I will install. I don't want to have buyers remorse.

I can't speak to the laminate but porcelain tile is virtually indestructible. I've had it in my last two homes with two hundred pound drooling dogs. When I sold my last home I had to remove some tiles that were put in around my aquarium and even trying to chip it out on purpose was difficult.

My husband & I installed the woodlook tile in the new closet we built in our last home. We liked the durability but without being heated underneath, it was really cold. I'm secretly wanting someone to tell me how wonderful the laminate is. It would be so much easier to install.

Is engineered hardwood the same as laminate? We have that in the non dog half of the house. It is slightly warmer but we have area rugs all over the place on bo sides.
