Hi there, I saw nothing that was terriably dirty and no sick birds, smelly birds yes (ducks, gueneas, and geese) and only because they were in such confined places. The Texas Animal Health folks are there and inspecting in force, I have seen them close down sellers with sickly stock or have the birds removed. That said I look over any birds hard I am considering before I touch them. Last month there were the normal brown egg layers, white egg layers and easter eggers, I didnt see any true Aruaconas, Blue Andalusians, Houdans or Sumatras all of which I would like to have. I did see for sale or trade of Phoenix, Black Langshan, Crested Poultry of numerous types, frizzled Sebastopol geese, Ornamental Pheasant, Peafowl, all colors of guinea, ducks, ducks and more ducks, geese, several varities, and I think every kind of bantam under the sun. There are sveral poultry judges that sell birds there, they normlly sell out on friday or early saturday morning, they normally dont bring many birds. A friend has a spot, sells Seramas and chicks in season. I sell upon occasion my cull Seramas and brown egg pullets. But mostly I want to see what is for sell, and I buy a lot of cages (they are cheap). I hope you have a good time if you come You can park near Dogtown for 3.00 and not have to walk that far. I understand the whole place is between 300 and 400 acres. Dogtown is probaly 40 or so acres. If you like to shop it would be hard if not impossible to see the the whole selling areas in two days, my wife has never made it thru more that half in two days, I stay in dog town looking at birds and talking poultry. By the way your children will love it. Every thing you have horses, donkeys dogs, cats, and everything else thats legal (no wolfs) Ive seen it for sale. If I can help more let me know Johnny
