We are almost 4 hours away from each other or we would love her! We did get two ducklings because we couldn’t find any one with a dark colored duck. She just wouldn’t take to a light color one either.

howdy folks, im sure this has been asked before, im in the austin area and i was curious what kind of predators y'all run into most? Ive seen plenty of hawks, coons, and opossums, but ive never seen a fox. Im just trying to get a feel for our most common predators.

I can't imagine coyote are only a north Texas problem. They are our most common predator up here. I've also seen bobcat on more than one occasion.

Coyote and Bobcat. I have plenty of both. Just a hawk once. Pretty impressive that a hawk that weighs less than a pound can swiftly kill and eat a 6 Lb duck. I have a pair of Barred Owls but they have not taken a duck yet.

wow, Coyote and Bobcat huh? i didnt expect that, its good to hear y'all dont have to much problems with hawks. Any other critters to watch out for deep in the heart of?

Racoons, opossum, snakes....etc. The snakes seem to only to go after The lings and eggs. When I first put the lings out I slept near them. One woke me up screaming bloody murder and there was a snake wrapped around her. Poor snake...
