Chicken are mean and have a pack hierarchy. They don't play well with outhers. Just accept you have a Queen bee hen. We all have them.

So Hilde roosted with her chick in the big girl pen last night. Nothing ever bothers things in the big girl pen well except the big girls. Hilde is the biggest and meanest chicken I own so she did fine. The other chicken not so much. At lockdown last night she had them all off their roosts and on the wire.

@lovemyjjbs yes, we all have them. Whether or not you tolerate them or cull is up to you. Sometimes they settle down. Sometimes they terrorize the flock.

Are they crowded? This will cause aggression. Other stressors? It may be that bird's personality. Seems I’ve heard Wyandottes are dominant. If the behavior continues, she may stress the flock and cause issues with the others. Have a plan. Removing her from the flock for a time will reset the pecking order. Search introduction here for some good tips.

I keep chickens for my enjoyment (and to talk with Allen on here, but don't tell him). The point at which it is no longer enjoyment and causes you stress, is the point we don't want to get to. Best wishes!
 
I checked out Ideal Hatchery....I had no idea they were so close to me! They are on my side of Austin! However, they were sold out of almost everything. I really wanted a variety of egg colors, so after lots of calling around last Thursday I ended up with chicks from Tractor Supply in Liberty Hill. Everyone else in the area had brown layers, and they either had only one breed, or a breed I didn't particularly want. We ended up with 3 straight run Ameraucanas (so if anyone wants a rooster in a few months.....) 2 production blues and 1 leghorn. I'm a little worried about how loud the leghorn will be, but excited about white eggs. I had never heard of Production Blues, but our RIR and Black Australorp were great layers. They Australorp is 5 year old and still lays 2 per week sometimes. So far they are all doing well, and we are getting some use out of our rabbit cages besides the one month out of the year when we show rabbits.

Yes, the backyard chicken industry is booming with the virus. Strange, but the movement is building. Great Grandma had chickens and Dad hates plucking with a passion. He thinks it strange his two sons have chickens, but loves the eggs.

Best wishes for 3 Ameraucanas hens! I don't find the Leghorns hens any louder than the Ideal EE hens. The roosters of both, on the other hand, are loud.

Enjoy the new ones.
