This is the reason I had to go to raised beds and container gardening. I live in a swamp. The year I started a garden in the ground, the plants drowned. Would be different if the clay would drain. Not going to happen here.Ground is certainly saturated. Small ponds in the yard. Although we only had a 40% chance of rain today, it is raining now with 80% chance tomorrow. I know the water table can use the rain, but I sure miss sunlight. I am afraid all the rain will ruin my garden.
Thanks! We absolutely love it here!Tyler is beautiful. Congrats on the land
Thanks. I put pole beans around the corn today and spread some composted chicken poop- things starting to look like they needed nitrogen. My beds are raised too. More rain for almost every day next week. This is the reason I had to go to raised beds and container gardening. I live in a swamp. The year I started a garden in the ground, the plants drowned. Would be different if the clay would drain. Not going to happen here.
Best wishes for the garden.
First named storm of the season, Ana, near the Bahamas. And a disturbance in the Gulf, probably will just bring more rain to our already saturated ground.![]()
