Welcome! I'm in Central Texas as well. What kind of birds do you have?

I currently have 15 chicks. 5 white leghorns 4 production reds, 1 golden lace wyndotte, 4 black giants(I think jersey giants), and 1 buttercup. All from Murray mcmurray.

1 little buttercup in the mix, I bet she'll end up ruling the coop Nice mix of birds!

I hope they do. And I hope they are a rooster lol I want to try and have the buttercup combs on some hybrids. I'm not to picky about my birds I think it looks cool tho. I ordered the buttercup as a rooster and the rest as hens. But one of the giants has a white spot on their head and I don't know if they are autosexing lol

Just realized I have an extra chick I could of sworn I didn't get any extras with the order but now today was the first time I noticed the white spot and blueish gray on the wings of a mysterious chick that I hadn't noticed. I knew I had 4 black giants and a golden laced Wyandotte but now I have noticed there's a 6th black colored chick I can't believe I missed in an order of only 15+1extra I didn't notice somehow.

No storms tonight, so far. The winds pretty gusty and our power has been out for at least two hours. I just took some eggs from the incubator, and slipped them under a bantam broody.
