Lost most the babies!:hitTarps riped off two pens. The other two just have water in them. The high pen have water but not bad. I'm cuddling what's left of the babies after drying them with towels. One rose comb mightm make it. This is pretty devastating for me.
I'm so sorry :hugs

I think my total losses are about 36 from the one pen. Saved 8 I believe. I haven't counted yet.🫤 All other pens and adults and the babies from Easter hatch are doing great even tho that Pens tarp was ripped off as well. Most where crammed into the nesting boxes.
Mother nature never loses. Glad that you are safe.

I have a 13 week old pair of Buckeyes. Born April 10, 2024.

The pair is $40

Fun Facts about Buckeyes:

- Fewer than 5,000 breeding birds in the United States, with ten or fewer primary breeding flocks, and estimated global population less than 10,000.
- Buckeyes are also included in Slow Food USA's Ark of Taste, a catalog of heritage foods that are at risk of extinction.
- Buckeyes are a large, heavy breed of chicken that originated in Warren, Ohio in the late 19th century. They were developed by Nettie Metcalf and named after the state's nickname and their rich Buckeye color. Buckeyes are known for being hardy, good egg layers, and excellent foragers. They are also known for being calm and gentle, and for getting along well with other breeds.
