This is so cool!!! I am in Livingston!! Howdy neighbors, whoohoo
I am so glad to know there are fellow BYC'ers so close. I live right in the middle of town with 2 SLW hens that I got from easttxchick in the back yard. My DH is all for getting a few more this spring...........(rubs hands together with evil grin).
When will there be another chicken show??? So close???
And Sheila, thanks for the nice comments and encouragement.
Never, that's why you have to come to this one!
Actually there will be a much smaller one at the State Fair in Beaumont in March.
Which comment? The one where I told you not to jacksmack anybody? Just kidding-you're welcome!
Everyone that's showing in the BCC ready? Not me, I feel nauseated and nervous!
Having a hard time deciding who to show and who to keep at home. Hope I make the right choices!
Looking forward to seeing all of you who will be there. I'll be the idiot running around with a Call duck under each arm with a panicked expression on my face!

I have never showed an animal in my life but I can imagine it must be nerve-racking -- kind of like a kid's dance recital or baseball game ... such pressure...
I wish you the best of luck and if I see someone w/ two call ducks and a panicked look, I'll stop and say Hi!

Yeah, I know the house will still be there, but I have already scheduled help for that weekend, so I oughta, sorta, kinda, gotta be here. I'll go th the show in Beaumont, then because I have never been to one, it will look really super-duper to me.
ooooh, I don't have a BYC shirt but I am planning on being at the show next Saturday morning. In the afternoon, we are going to the George Bush library. I will try to remember my "Power to the Poultry" yellow plastic bracelet thing (like a livestrong bracelet) and I carry a chicken purse ... please please if you see me, say Hi and I will be on the look out for y'all with BYC shirts and stuff on!
I hope to see some of you there,
Oh, and Baymule - the first show I went to was a show in LaGrange and you are right, it is just so special to see all-those-chickens in one place, I was about to cry. I had never even seen a chicken (except my own and the ones at the farm I got them from) before. I was in awe... I wanted one of each kind! I'm always a little shy about talking to anyone but people were super nice to me and there was a nice lady who let me actually hold her chicken.
