lol... my hubby said no turkeys... and i think nef said they would have had to have been set earlier to hatch on thanksgiving... i might do it next year.. do turkeys lay year round?? or are the seasonal like peacocks?

I am hatching on Thanksgiving also. I got a pair of Showgirls from Fowl Fest and my hen has laid me 6 eggs so far. I cracked one and it is fertile. I am so excited! I hatched out about 40 layer chicks this spring, and had a blast doing it, so I plugged the bator in and set my 4 eggs last night. I also added 4 layer x eggs. I got all my layers in together until spring, so who knows what will hatch out of those 4 eggs.

Boy did I get some beautiful cross chicks in my last hatch. I have a blue laced red wyandotte roo who has thrown me some amazing colored mixed chicks.

I would love to push the fast forward button & rush hatch day!

If anyone is interested in some heavy layer cross eggs let me know....I have many!

I put 14 silkie and 9 golden laced cochins in yesterday afternoon. So excited, it's my first hatch. The temp held steady all night. I know because I was worried and got up several times to check it!

lol... i almost did that on my first hatch... but i really really had to control myself to stay in bed...
i bt golden laced cochins are gonna be gorgeous... i'm jealous...

How's everyone's incubating going? I'm having some problems with my LG. Two days now it's jumped up in temp, from 102 to 107 without me adjusting anything.

I'm not sure why. I'll vent it a few times and it'll finally come back down. Other than that, it's going great!
