Does anyone know what's going on with this egg? This is from eggs that are due to hatch in 7 days from now.

Air cell looks good and its not detached. And chick is still alive

The veins look good!

Get a felt pen and mark that saddle air cell. Adjust as the chick develops and watch for where the chick pips. if not in the empty part of the air cell, you may need to clean the pip hole to keep the chick from suffocating on the liquid.

I have had saddle air cells before but never this big. Every time I get a saddle air cell with my own eggs its always the blue eggs. I wonder why that is?

Good Question! Maybe the blue egg layers are more active at laying eggs and bounce them around a bit

Thanks so much... I’ve been reading a lot and so many say so many things... thankful to have the sounding board.

@ronott1 if you’re weighing, is there a reason to mark the air cells prior to lockdown on these saddles?

@two j farm im glad you’ve got some a couple days ahead that are saddled please keep updating! :caf:pop
To watch for the spot where the chick pips to make sure it is in the correct place. It is a good idea to mark saddle cells especially

I will keep you updated, I have had them hatch before so now I just have to wait it out. I'm going to candle all eggs tonight, and mark the saddle. Its so crazy how it just happen, because I candled these eggs 2 days and it was fine. :idunno
