Quote: I am going to, but we get rushed into things this time of year and wont be able to make a coop until later this year in the winter. so I am going to buy something off craigslist that holds 3 ducks, and as soon as i can we will build a bigger better coop! :)
i found the link to their website off craigslist.. lol!

I have free ranged my birds for the last 3 years during the warmer months. Had my first hawk attack last summer. All he got was a bunch of feathers. I attribute my bird's survival on plenty of hiding spaces throughout the property. Lots of shrubbery! Its the foxes that are my biggest problem every year. Think I'll go check out your thread Sally!
On a lighter note, here's another lovely gift from the hubby from his trip. Coasters!
Beautiful coasters!

They might learn to use the ramp, but you'd be better off finding something on the ground. They don't need roosts and you're better off not feeding or watering them in the coop, they'll make a mess. Try looking for a chain link dog kennel on CL, and cover the top and just stick a dog house in there for them to sleep in.

Tad..
during laying season we use an A frame with an enclosure for safety. A large dog house will work great too.

This is an old cupolo off our coop..they ducks use this for nesting also

This end is closed with a temporary fence during breeding season. The back run is open to them and enclosed for safety.
