I just scrapped the idea to use the turner. Going to try without it. Takes up so much room. I need space to implement the sponge holding baskets and water filled ramikins. I've got the time to turn by hand. Here's hoping new methods work! Wow, getting close now to setting day! Still don't know how many I'm setting yet.

If not, I'll have to use the heat lamp. I just worry over fires with the heat lamp, especially with all the members having coop fires lately. I don't worry at all with the EcoGlow, plus it saves big time on electricity.

Still adjusting temp on my bator, but it's within range now. Had to break out the less accurate Hovabator because I have too many eggs to fit into my Brinsea. Hopefully my new EcoGlow50 arrives in time for these chicks. I have the 20, but it's not going to cut it for so many chicks.

the EcoGlow's I want a 50 also, I only have a 20 and is the best thing for bantams and quail.

I may have hit a snag in my hatching plans, since I've not heard back from the lady who I am buying eggs from, and she was in the path of the winter storm up north. :/ I did set 7 eggs from my two oldest pullets, but I set them on the 5th, intending to hatch them early and then set my other eggs Saturday. Hopefully they will arrive in time.

I'm thinking we may set the eggs tonight, not really what I had planned but my 5year old really wants to help set them. He says if I do it in the morning then he won't get to help... Hmm decisions, decisions... They will have rested 8hours at 8pm.

I need an adjudicator to tell me if I am in or not. I will be arriving on a plane in the Phils on Easter Saturday so I cannot have eggs hatch that day but.... I have 70 odd eggs I set on Sat (a week early) and I have 48 eggs I am setting by proxy this saturday (due to a wrongly shipped order) Waddayathink?

I would think that's fine, of course I'm no Judge.
